What is the RC Nifty Challenge?
The RC Nifty Challenge is a team-based competition for students at UK schools in Year 8 and Year 9. The teams will build and code a Niftylift-inspired remote-controlled scale model to compete at the RC Nifty Challenge Day on the 20th of March next year.
The RC Nifty kit is designed & manufactured by Niftylift and is a 1:10 working scale model similar to our current HR12N machine. Some of the features have been simplified to allow for its scale & size, but it will function in the same way as a real Niftylift that team members will operate via their remote control.
RC Nifty teams will be scored in the following areas:
- Successfully building the RC Nifty kit
- Team Project Portfolio
- Stability vs machine mass - optimal weight distribution
- Obstacle course performance
- Team presentation and poster
The team with the most points will win a team trophy for their school to display and individual prizes for each team member.
The Crest Award
The RC Nifty covers the requirements for a Crest Award entry, so we encourage students to explore this option with their teachers.
