Intermediate Programme
We require individuals who are self-motivated, have good manual dexterity and problem-solving skills. The job will be a hands-on role, based at Milton Keynes within Production, Sub Assembly, Product Assembly Lines and Logistics. The successful applicant will develop into a top-class practical Manufacturing Operative with expert knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic assembly, linked to developing, building and servicing the Niftylift product range.
Applicant Entry Criteria:
- Minimum of 2 GCSE's (or equivalent): Grade 3 (D) or above in Maths & English.
Or,
- Functional Skills, level 1
Candidates with a Level 2 or equivalent Engineering qualification may be considered for our Level 3 programme.

The Role in More Detail:
During the 4 year programme, individuals will develop their practical skills in the role of Trainee Manufacturing Operative and on successful completion of the training programme/apprenticeship, full-time employment may be offered in the following position.
Production/ Assembly - Manufacturing Operative
This role requires dynamic team players with proven skills, knowledge and experience in mechanical assembly, along with hydraulic and electrical installation. The role requires operating to high quality/workmanship standards, within a manufacturing cell/flow line production environment. You will be required to perform a range of manufacturing/production operations to the required quality standard, on time and within commercial competition cost budgets (i.e. logistics/materials handling, preparation, painting, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly and fitting/fabrication).
Training / Experience:
Based at Milton Keynes College:
- EAL Level 2: Foundation Competence Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
- EAL Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing
*Maths and English Functional Skills may be delivered to those with outstanding GCSE qualifications.
In-House Training/Experience:
- Learning, experiencing and mastering all of the skills, systems and practices in some of the following departments, flow lines and cells:
