Person specification:
We require Trainee Manufacturing Operatives who are self-motivated, have good manual dexterity and problem-solving skills. The job will be a hands-on role, based on one of the Product Lines or Cells within the Production Department at Milton Keynes. The successful applicant will develop into a top-class practical Manufacturing Operative with expert knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic assembly of the Niftylift product range.
Applicant Entry Criteria:
Minimum of 2 GCSE’ s (or equivalent): Grade 3 or above in Maths and English, or Functional Skills level 1.
The role in more detail:
Production / Assembly - Manufacturing Operative
This role requires dynamic team players with a proven skills, knowledge and experience of mechanical assembly, along with hydraulic and electrical installation. The role requires operating to high quality / workmanship standards, within a manufacturing cell / flow line production environment. You will be required to perform a range of manufacturing / production operations to the required quality standard, on time and within commercial competition cost budgets (i.e. logistics / materials handling, preparation, painting, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, fitting / fabrication).
Example potential roles at the end of the apprenticeship: Skilled Production / Assembly Manufacturing Technician, PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Technician
Qualifications you will achieve:
EAL Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge)
EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills)
Practical Skills Training in the below areas:
· Producing components using hand-fitting techniques
· Maintaining mechanical devices and equipment
· Assembling and testing fluid power systems
· Wiring and Testing Electrical equipment and circuits
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress to level 3 providing that they meet Niftylift's internal criteria on the level 2 apprenticeship.
Working Hours & Salary:
Milton Keynes- Hours will be 08.00 - 16.30 Monday - Friday (with regular structured overtime if over 18).
Structured Apprenticeship rates that align with year 1 – 4 status of your apprenticeship and your age.
Starting salary - approximately £16,640, which goes to NMW after the first year
