Introduction
The Paint Technician role requires team players with experience, skills, and knowledge in wet paint spraying 2k paint products, as well as preparation of materials / components.
Pay Rate
Working hours will be 37.5 basic hours per week, on a rotating shift basis:
- Early shift hours will be 6.00am – 2.00pm Monday – Thursday, and 6.00am – 11.30am on Fridays.
- Late shift hours will be 2.00pm – 10.00pm Monday – Thursday, and 11.30am – 5.00pm on Fridays.
Guaranteed basic starting salary £12.17 per hour x 37.5 hours per week PLUS a shift premium of 15% of your basic hourly rate.

The Role in More Detail
- Primarily wet painting primer and gloss using airless, air-assisted and hvlp systems, primer and gloss paint (2pack systems), preferably within a commercial / manufacturing or car-related industry;
- An appreciation of the Health & Safety hazards within a paint shop, specifically Isocyanates & flammable liquids. Experienced in using & maintaining air-fed respiratory equipment;
- Flexible to further develop and enhance skills through a range of both wet paint and powder coating processes and products. Existing powder coating experience is beneficial, but not a necessity.
- Experience in operating within a lean manufacturing/continuous improvement team environment;
- Working as a team player to achieve customer quality, delivery, cost, and innovation requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in spraying or powder coating to understand the effects of poor preparation and/or poor paint / powder application can have in terms of inconsistent film thickness, gloss levels, orange peel appearance & colour variations;
- And/or; Experience with wet painting primer and gloss and/or wet interzinc primer using airless, air-assisted and hvlp systems, primer and gloss paint (2pack systems), preferably within a manufacturing or car industry;
- An appreciation of the Health & Safety hazards within a paint shop, specifically Isocyanates & flammable liquids. Experienced in using & maintaining air-fed respiratory equipment;
- Experience in operating within a lean manufacturing/continuous improvement team environment;
- Shot blasting experience beneficial;
- Welding knowledge would be an added advantage, but not essential;
- Ability to read, write and communicate at all levels in English.
