Niftylift at Milton Keynes Museum
On the 15th of July, we unveiled our new fully-interactive machine display at the Milton Keynes Museum in Wolverton, Milton Keynes.
Friday 4 August 2023
Since it opened in 1973, the Milton Keynes Museum has told the story of pre-1970s Milton Keynes, but now, with the introduction of its New Milton Keynes City Gallery, it can tell the story of the modern City as well, and we’re proud to be part of that.
Our display centres around a Niftylift factory production line with a real HeightRider12LE All-Electric (HR12LE) that visitors can operate.

The HR12LE is one of our new zero-emission All-Electric MEWPs, and we build them, as we do every Niftylift, at our world headquarters in Shenley Wood, Milton Keynes. The HR12LE is a shining example of British Manufacturing, showcasing some of our best innovations and our focus on environmental performance. Plus, its predecessor was the reason we came to Milton Keynes in 1988, so we think it’s the perfect choice for the exhibit.
As an honorary member of our Test Team, we invite you to don a hi-vis and hard hat and take the HR12LE through its final function tests as you control its movements (safely from the ground). But that’s not all! We also have a video of the HR12LE’s journey from a design concept to its arrival at the museum, some fun, hands-on activities to challenge your assembly skills and, coming soon, an interactive display of the different disciplines that come together to produce a Niftylift.

So if you’re from the local area or fancy a rewarding day out with the family, why not head to the Milton Keynes Museum and join our Niftylift Test Team?
You’ll find us in the New Milton Keynes City Gallery - we look forward to seeing you there!
