'Nifty 4 Schools' Goes Full STEAM Ahead!
Niftylift unveils its new free-to-download educational activities for primary and secondary schools.
Friday 5 March 2021
At Niftylift, we love Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths (STEAM). Without STEAM our engineers wouldn’t have the necessary skills and knowledge to design, develop and manufacture the market-leading products that we sell around the world.
But it’s not just our engineers that benefit from learning STEAM subjects at school…Nifty 4 Schools - STEAM Activities
Niftylift is made up of lots of departments with hundreds of people all doing different jobs, and understanding STEAM is an essential part of how we all work together effectively as a team.
So, we want to share our passion for STEAM, to help inspire young people to take their studies further and maybe one day become part of our diverse team here at Niftylift.
For several years we’ve collaborated with local businesses to do this via an annual STEM Festival, held at The Centre:MK. However, last year’s festival couldn’t go ahead, due to COVID-19 restrictions, so this year we’ve decided to hold a virtual event instead.
Timed to coincide with the start of British Science Week, each day we are unveiling a new STEAM-based activity via social media from the 5th to the 12th of March.
They are suitable for a range of ages and abilities and include a mixture of practical and theoretical activities. There are explanations of the manufacturing theories behind the activities and we give real-world examples of how these theories are applied right here at Niftylift.
You will find all of our activities (as we unveil them) in the new ‘Nifty 4 Schools’ section on our website.
Simply click on each activity and enjoy!
And don’t forget, we will be announcing the finalists for our STEAM poster competition on Monday (8th of March), so keep an eye on our social media channels for your chance to help choose the winner.
