Niftylift ClipOn: The Next Step for Onsite Safety
The Latest Innovation from Niftylift.

Did you know that falls from height are one of the most common causes of significant injury in the industry?
In the access industry, safety is fundamental to effective operations, but working at height always comes with risks. Incorrect actions can result in avoidable delays and, in some cases, severe and costly accidents, which is why safety (from training to personal protection) is so important.
We believe that safety shouldn't be complicated, which is why we have designed a simple, retrofittable harness detection system for our entire HeightRider range.
Introducing the Niftylift ClipOn
Our latest innovation, although small, is a giant leap for safety in the industry. Inspired by standard safety practices in the automotive sector, where similar systems have been proven to significantly reduce the risk of accidents, it is designed to aid in the adoption and compliance of safe working practices on site. This approach has been adapted and tailored to the unique needs and challenges of the access industry, ensuring its effectiveness and relevance.
Niftylift ClipOn is an easy-to-use safety device that can be installed onto any of our HeightRider machines. It provides Niftylift operators with a visual and audible reminder to 'clip on' their harnesses.
How does it work?
The safety system becomes active the moment the Key Switch is turned on. If no harness lanyard is attached, red LEDs above each harness point will indicate that the harness is not connected to the cage. As an additional reminder, an alarm will sound if the operator tries to activate the machine using the footswitch, a similar concept to the already familiar vehicle seatbelt warning.
As soon as a harness lanyard is attached, the alarm stops sounding, and the LEDs change to green to demonstrate that the operator is good to go.
Taking it one step further, we've incorporated additional under-basket green LEDs that clearly indicate to the ground team the status of the operator harness attachment - a massive step in the industry to improve site safety compliance.
How does this benefit your fleet?
Designed to be easy to implement into daily operations and seamlessly integrated into your existing machines, ClipOn saves time on installations. It can accommodate a fleet of varying ages, from older models to the latest ones while leaving machine certification unaffected.
With only three main components to be installed onto Niftylift HeightRider machines—the control box, harness sensors and light array—integration is quick and simple. This gives owners the option to fit the system themselves, providing minimal impact to the operator and normal operations, saving valuable time and additional costs. The installation process is straightforward and can be completed without the need for specialized tools or extensive downtime.
By using a progressive operator warning system that is already familiar (like the standard practice of a seat belt warning), the ClipOn system is designed to be adopted quickly, empowering operators to be proactive onsite. The red light warning and audible alarm alert the operator of the error to allow for correction without stopping the machine, enabling correction even before an issue occurs.
