The Gen2 Hybrid system leverages over a decade of Niftylift Hybrid technological experience, integrating both a diesel engine and electric motor along with additional onboard features to create one of the most robust and efficient power systems available today.

How does Niftylift’s Gen2 Hybrid power system work?

Hybrid mode, where both electric and diesel systems work in conjunction, is automatically activated when the engine is running. The EU Stage V diesel engine is boosted by an electric motor when extra power is required, providing the machine with maximum power, ideal for heavy-duty work and outdoor operations. In this mode, the battery will deplete based on the power demand.

During light-duty operation, excess power from the engine charges the batteries, allowing energy storage for future heavy-duty tasks while maintaining battery health. This dual capability ensures efficient operation and extended battery life.

When the battery is fully charged, switch to electric-only mode for stationary work to save on fuel consumption. In this mode, the machine utilizes only the electric motor, delivering zero-emission operation ideal for indoor work, low-emission zones, and noise-sensitive environments. Although drive speed may be lower, you can work significantly longer on a single charge, maintaining onsite efficiency and reducing running costs.

What additional features are included?

Because we understand the importance of battery health and durability in the access industry, our Gen2 Hybrid power system includes comprehensive battery monitoring and protection to enhance battery life and reduce maintenance costs. By actively tracking battery voltage, current, and temperature, the system prevents over-discharging and optimizes charging profiles, safeguarding the batteries from operational damage and ensuring a prolonged lifespan.

For optimal performance, we recommend charging the batteries overnight, ensuring the machine is ready for work the next day. If necessary, you can also switch on the engine for faster charging times. Our onboard diesel ‘Re-Gen’ feature charges the maintenance-free AGM batteries twice as fast as an AC power source by using surplus power produced by the diesel engine during operation.

Top tip: You can maximize the utility of your Niftylift Gen2 Hybrid machines by operating the electric motor quietly at night and recharging during the day while running on diesel. This approach allows for 24-hour operation, keeping batteries in top condition and the machine functioning at peak performance.
