Lindum Plant Orders Nifty HR17 and HR21 Hybrids

Tom Robinson and Shane Martin of Lindum Plant with their first HR21 Hybrid AWD

As part of a new order for Niftylifts, Tom Robinson, Director of Lindum Plant and Shane Martin, Plant Manager, take delivery of their first Height Rider 17 (HR17 Hybrid 4x4) and Height Rider 21 (HR21 Hybrid AWD) Hybrid platforms and discuss the finer points of these machines (pictured).

When asked for his reason for purchasing this type of machine Tom commented:

"We strive for the Lindum fleet of machines to be amongst the youngest in the industry, this helps keep my customers happy by limiting breakdowns and consequently keeps our machines on the very cutting edge of technology. These Nifty HR17s and HR21s not only have the unique SiOPS® operator protection system but also the Hybrid power source. I am convinced I will be able to achieve a better return for our investment by offering equipment with a lower carbon footprint.

"At just 4,750kg for the HR17 and well under 6,500kg for the HR21, these machines are substantially lighter than other manufacturer's 45, 50 and 70 foot booms, meaning I can save on transport while offering customers lower point loadings too."

Instead of using a traditional 37kW engine, the Niftylift Hybrid system utilises an efficient Tier 4 / EU Stage IIIB compliant 15kW engine coupled with a powerful electric motor. Even with this much smaller engine the system actually delivers a 5% increase in power-to-weight ratio and a 40-50% fuel saving as well. Added to this is an advanced exhaust purification system that incorporates a catalytic converter and particulate filter that remove up to 60% of particulates, 80% of hydrocarbons and 90% of carbon Monoxide.

Tim Ward of Niftylift added:

"These machines will form the basis for a whole new range of environmentally conscious access platforms from Niftylift. The HR21, HR17 and the new HR15 Hybrids can work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week due to their unique battery re-generation system.

"It's clear to us at Niftylift that Carbon Footprint will become increasingly important within the construction industry not only here in England but to our customers worldwide as well. It's great to see that a company of Lindum Plant's size shares that vision of where the market is heading."
