Technical Illustrator - Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire

Overview

Work as part of the Product Design team within the Engineering department to produce and update machine labels and label diagrams.

Main tasks

  • Creating and updating machine labels in Adobe Illustrator;
  • Communicate safety critical and technical information clearly to the access platform operator;
  • Creating and updating machine label diagrams using a combination of 2D and 3D CAD software. These technical illustrations need to communicate key information and design intent clearly to our production lines to maintain efficiency during fitment;
  • Coordinating translations and adherence to international standards. This role forms part of the product certification process for global markets;
  • Supporting the migration of data and documents to PLM software.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role and the organisation's overall business objectives, this may include the training and mentoring of colleagues.

Qualifications & experience

  • Familiar with Adobe Illustrator;
  • Familiar working with technical drawings and diagrams;
  • AutoCAD/Draftsight 2D drafting software (or similar);
  • Creo CAD software (or similar);
  • Experience working in a design/manufacturing environment.
