Team Leader - Hoyland, South Yorkshire

Main Purpose of Job:

Hands on control of the production processes and the production team responsible for achieving production output.

Relationships:

Responsible to: Shift Supervisor.

Responsible for: A team of skilled, semi-skilled and apprentice operators.

Liaison with: Fabrication Team Leader, Logistics Supervisor, Purchasing, Quality, Production Engineering, Suppliers and Development Engineers.

Main Tasks of Job:

  1. Compliance with Health and Safety standards, manage risk through COSHH Assessments, Process and Manual Handling Risk Assessments. Reporting through Safety Barometer KPI.
  2. Efficient organisation and control of staff, regular structured communication with teams.
  3. Ensure ISO 9001 procedures are complied with, including in process inspection sheets (PDI's). Auditing and controlling line quality to support No Fault Forward policy. Control of internal/ external quality notes and the implementation of preventative actions.
  4. Maintain accurate information on the production planning system to ensure timely updates on schedules.
  5. Control attainment data to support productivity and cost KPI's to support On Time In Full delivery performance.
  6. Ensure your teams are focused on Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing to achieve and surpass standard times. Achieved through Kaizen (Rapid Improvement Activities) to reduce waste within the process (non-value added) and improve housekeeping standards through 5S processes.
  7. Measure daily cell performance to produce accurate KPI's through Process Control Boards (PCB's);
    1. People: Accidents and Near misses.
    2. Quality: Defective Parts Produced v Rework and Scrap costs.
    3. Delivery: Schedule Adherence, On Time In Full Delivery Performance.
    4. Cost: Planned Labour Hours v Actual Labour Hours Used.
  8. Ensure all company policies and procedures are audited and complied with.
