Product Reliability and Cost Engineer
Main purpose of role:
To improve Niftylift product quality and value to customers through improved reliability testing, cost reduction, and design improvement.
Availability:
This role is vacant and available to start.
Relationships:
- Responsible to: Engineering Infrastructure Manager
- Liaison with: All Niftylift employees, predominantly: Design Engineers, Production Engineers, Service Engineers, Buyers, and Quality Engineers.
Main tasks:
- Investigate failure data and determine opportunities for improving reliability across the product range.
- Investigate warranty costs and determine opportunities for cost reduction across the product range.
- Design experiments to validate machine design and performance considering through life use and likely failure modes; work with Niftylift employees, customers, and end users to derive this information.
- Periodically inspect existing products and test reliability on a proactive basis to prevent failures developing in the field.
- Design and conduct experiments to solve 8D problems as part of the company's team-based problem solving methodology.

Qualifications and experience
- An Engineering degree in a Mechanical or applied discipline.
- Pro/Engineer modelling and drawing skills.
- AutoCAD drawing skills.
- Proven team worker.
