Advanced Craft Apprenticeship - Introduction:

We require Advanced Craft Apprentices who are self motivated, have good manual dexterity and problem solving skills. The job will be a hands on role, based on one of the Product Lines or Cells within the Production Department at Milton Keynes. The successful applicant will develop into a top class practical Manufacturing Technician with expert knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic assembly, linked to developing, building and servicing the Niftylift product range.
Applicant Entry Criteria:
Minimum of 3 GCSE' s, Grade D or above in Maths, English and Science.

Mechanical / Electrical Assembly - Manufacturing Technician
This role requires dynamic team players who will be trained and developed in the skills, knowledge and experience of mechanical assembly, along with hydraulic and electrical installation. The role requires operating to high quality / workmanship standards, within a demanding flow line production environment. You will be required to perform a range of manufacturing / production operations to the required quality standard, on time and within commercial competition cost budgets (i.e. logistics / materials handling, preparation, painting, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, welding, fitting / fabrication, service / maintenance and development).
- Efficient and correct to specification Mechanical assembly, hydraulic installation, electrical wiring, and fabrication / fitting operations, linked to the manufacture, service and repair of access platforms.
- Competent build inspection of all stages and materials used. Full compliance with ISO 9001 procedures, and total quality focus throughout all direct / indirect stages of manufacturing process to achieve a quality product aligned to the customer's specification / expectations.
- Effective and efficient value added organisation and control of all allocated operations. Full flexibility, including being training and training others to enable all manufacturing operations by all to be completed across the company.
- Compliance with health and safety standards, flexibility, and development of skills through the complete manufacturing process, and the production / product cells.
- Maintaining and developing accurate systems and procedures. Ensuring engineering masters and works orders accurately reflect the approved parts consumed. Identification of low stock / shortages.
- Maintain a high standard of 5' s workplace organisation. Continuous improvement / elimination of waste, through 'Lean Manufacturing techniques / tools'.
- Working as a team to achieve customer quality, delivery, cost and innovation requirements. Striving to meet performance requirements for accidents / incidents, internal quality defects, cell productivity / utilisation, overall stock accuracy and WIP (flow line adherence).
- Ensuring company procedures and standards are complied with.
